Carlos Criado (Cadice, 1977), graduated in Art History from Barcelona University, and began his artistic career when still very young as a photographer and painter.
He is fond of plastic narratives, as demonstrated by the project undertaken in Bordeaux, in the Saint Michel market, with works sponsored by the French municipality and bearing the name “Reenactment, la fabrication de l’histoire”. Capable of reinterpreting artists of the calibre of Velázquez in a contemporary vein, his painting goes beyond pop art in a spirit of irony, poetry and lightness. His works are often travel notes. He has been awarded important prizes and has exhibited at events including the Contemporary Art Biennale in Bordeaux and the Museo Histórico in Écija (Seville).
